01Our Model

Jurix operates a passive, verified advocate directory together with a technology facilitation layer. Jurix is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, representation or any guarantee of outcome. Independent, verified advocates are solely responsible for the advice and services they provide, and advocate fees are set and collected by the advocate directly. Jurix does not solicit, rank, rate, recommend or assign advocates — users browse the directory and choose an advocate themselves, in neutral listing order. The platform provides software, document tools, communication and operational support only; it does not perform legal work or share in advocates' professional fees.

02Our Commitment

Compliance is foundational to a trustworthy legal platform. We maintain documented policies, internal reviews and verification processes across the ecosystem, and are pursuing independent security certifications in phases. See our Trust & Security page for technical detail.

03Regulatory Frameworks

• Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — data fiduciary obligations and user rights.
• Information Technology Act, 2000 — intermediary and data-handling requirements.
• Advocates Act, 1961 & Bar Council of India Rules — including Rule 36, the prohibition on advertising/solicitation, and the rule that only advocates may practise law. Listed advocates remain bound by these norms.
• Consumer Protection Act, 2019 — applies to Jurix's own platform and software services. Following Bar of Indian Lawyers v. D.K. Gandhi (Supreme Court, 2024), services rendered by advocates are not treated as a “service” under the Act; advocate–client matters are governed by the advocate's professional obligations rather than consumer-service rules.

04Advertising & Professional Conduct

Jurix is a technology platform, not a law firm. We do not advertise, solicit, rank, rate or publish promotional endorsements of advocates, and we do not display advocate ratings or advertise advocate fees. Lawyer information is presented on a passive, informational basis only. Advocates listed on Jurix remain bound by Bar Council of India norms, including Rule 36 of the BCI Rules.

05Lawyer Verification

Legal professionals complete identity (KYC) and bar council verification before they can take on cases. We periodically re-verify credentials and monitor for disciplinary actions.

06AML & KYC

We apply Know-Your-Customer and anti-money-laundering checks proportionate to risk, and evaluate payment partners for regulatory compliance.
